HF (3-30 MHz)
2013

In October 1991, Naval Radio Transmitter Facility (NRTF) Niscemi was established in the south-central part of Sicily. 46 trasmitters antennas have been operating since then, 27 of which, according to US military documents, are active today.
26 of them are HF
transmitters (High Frequency, electromagnetic waves between 3 and 30 MHz) and one 853 foot is an LF transmitter (Low Frequency at 46 KHz) comprise the bulk of operations supporting Navy, Joint and Allied forces in the Mediterranean, Southwest Asia, Indian Ocean and Atlantic Ocean areas.
I took these photographs on August 9th 2013 during a demonstration where together with two thousand people we occupied for few hours the military base in Niscemi.
